Natural, Brain-Based Methods for Children, Adolescents, and Families

Child & Adolescent Psychotherapy
Psychotherapy allows children and adolescents to address problems that impair daily functioning in academics, parenting, friendships, sibling relationships, goal setting & attainment, and self-direction. Feelings, thoughts, behaviors, motivation, resilience, and self-concept will be targeted to help children, parents, and siblings develop positive change that builds meaningful and fulfilling relationships. Children with depression and/or anxiety experience cognitive distortions, an external locus of control, and impaired coping & resilience.

Natural, Practical Methods
Every child is unique and needs supportive space to be understood. Dr. Hale's approach to children is, “when children talk, I listen.” Dr. Hale utilize a combination of brain-based research, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), Adlerian and client centered approaches, and problem-solution recommendations, all of which provide practical benefits in daily life and motivation to change.

Parenting Support & Training
Parenting a neuroatypical child can be challenging and frustrating. Kids with special needs do not always respond to natural or logical consequences that result in positive changes in neurotypical peers.
Similarly, parents may not see eye to eye about what works for children who are acting out and disruptive. Parenting skill training helps parents improve communication, set consistent limits, and focus on change that leads to positive parent-child relationships.
